Archived: Groundbreaking Event Planned for ISELF Building

St. Cloud State is set to break ground on a new $45 million science and research building Thursday. The ceremony for the new Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility or known as ISELF, will begin at 12 p.m. at the future site of the building located on Eighth Street South where the former 801 building was located.

Governor Mark Dayton will be attending the event as well as St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter, The Chair of MnSCU Board of Trustees Scott Thiss along with other dignitaries from SCSU. ISELF is a 100,000 square-foot structure that will serve mostly upper-level and graduate-level science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medical technology and radiology classes.

The building is scheduled to open in 2013 and will be the largest single construction project in MnSCU history according to university officials. KVSC will be airing the event live on Thursday.
