Archived: Help Make the Mississippi River a Community Asset
The community is encouraged to attend a pair of open houses to highlight the importance of making the Mississippi River a viable resource in central Minnesota. It’s part of the St. Cloud Urban Area Mississippi River Corridor Plan. The grant-funded effort is intended to enhance recreation, economic development, tourism, community events and sustainability along the Mississippi River in Sartell, Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud.
The first open house will be held Wednesday, June 23 at Municipal Park in Sauk Rapids, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The other open house will be held next Tuesday, June 29 at the St. Cloud Civic Center from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Attendees are welcome to drop-in at any point during the open houses to review and comment on the past, present, and future of the Mississippi River Corridor.
