St. Cloud State Volunteer Connections wants to remind the St. Cloud community that there are plenty of things you can do to help the people of Haiti, in the wake of last week’s massive earthquake near its capital, Port-au-Prince. Here are some of those opportunities:

The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has $65,000 in matching funds to assist with the efforts in Haiti.

A community-wide food packaging session is being organized through Kids Against Hunger for the second or third weekend in February. KAH wants to package 2 million meals to be sent to Haiti. More detailed information on this event is coming soon.

For those interested in helping immediately, simply text “HAITI” to 90999 and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.
