Archived: Huskies End Season at Final Four

The most successful season in men’s basketball history came to end last week as the Huskies lost to Indiana University of Pennsylvania 76-70 in the Final Four. St. Cloud was just one win away from the National Championship game but came up short of continuing their historic year.

Senior Matt Schneck capped up his remarkable Husky career with a game high 29 points and 17 rebounds. He finished the season with 23 double-doubles on his way to receiving the NSIC player of the year, NSIC Tournament MVP, Central Region Most Outstanding Player and being voted as an All-American. Schneck finished his career fifth on the all-time points list and fourth in rebounds.

This season also marked the first time the Huskies advanced to the Final Four in school history and the team recorded the most wins in a season, with 29.
