Archived: Huskies Getting Set for St. Paul

The St.Cloud State Men’s Hockey team didn’t capture the league playoff title and the Broadmoor Trophy but the Huskies did solidify a spot in the NCAA Tournament this weekend. After a win over Wisconsin in the Final Five semi-finals and a loss to North Dakota in the championship game, the Huskies find themselves as a number two seed in the tournament.

St. Cloud will be taking on three seed, Northern Michigan at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the Xcel Energy Center in St.Paul. It is the first time the Huskies have played in the same time zone for the national tournament and are hoping the home ice advantage will lead them to their first tournament win in school history.

If the Huskies advance on Friday, they will play the winner of the Wisconsin/Vermont match-up on Saturday at 8 p.m. If you are not able to make it down to the games this weekend, tune into KVSC for Husky Hockey post-season coverage. The pre-game show starts at 3:30 p.m. on Friday with the drop of the puck at 4:30 p.m.
