Huskies Pummell Nannooks As Olson Scores 16.

-The St. Cloud State women’s basketball team defeated the University of Alaska Fairbanks 101-53 on Saturday. Forward Brynn Olson led the Huskies with 16 points on the night while Jadda Eggebrecht and Abigail O’reilly each totalled 14.
Despite some shooting struggles, St. Cloud State got out to a 9-0 lead early on in the game. The Huskies controlled the first quarter and scored a lot of points in the paint to take a 30-9 lead into the second quarter. St. Cloud State continued to work well in the paint and controlled the ball in the second quarter. The Huskies struggled from deep in the second quarter and only two three-point shots were made. The first half ended with St. Cloud State leading 47-23 and the Huskies shot 41.7 percent from the field.
The Nanooks improved their play in the second half, but St. Cloud State held them back. The Huskies turned to the fast break for points and utilized their speed to score points. Grace Olson notched 8 points and one steal in the third quarter to help SCSU extend their lead. St. Cloud State held the ball for most of the fourth quarter and moved on to a 101-53 win.
