On Nov 6th at 6 p.m., the St. Cloud State Huskies (19-8) took on the USF Cougars (10-16)
Set 1 set the tone for the game, as the Huskies made a complete 180 in play style. St. Cloud State was extremely efficient on the block in set 1 and ended the set with four block assists, stopping strikes from Aubrey Gates and Ella Walker.
Set 2 was very similar to set one, with the Huskies responding well to the Cougars’ strikes. Another huge factor in set 2 was the combination of kills from Carlie Willis and Emury Thury, who both ended the game with double-digit kills. This duo helped the Huskies take set 2 with similar efficiency.
In set 3, both teams would battle back-and-forth in set 3 with both teams tying up to five times; however, the Cougars would have a tough time with attacking errors and service errors, which would end up taking their momentum in some rallies. Despite the effort from the Cougars, the game would end after a tip over by Carlie Willis hit the ground, sealing the game
