ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State volleyball team extended their winning streak to five matches with a sweep of the Winona State Warriors on Tuesday. The win marked the 15th straight-set victory for the Huskies this season.

SCSU defeated the Warriors 25-17, 25-21, and 25-15. The Warriors only led twice in the entire match, taking the first point of set two and three.

In the first set, the Huskies jumped out to a 6-1 lead. Winona State rallied back later in the set, rattling off five straight points to shrink the SCSU lead down to 11-10. St. Cloud State pulled away late for the win, as Carlie Willis had five kills for the Huskies in the set.

The second set was a tighter battle. Willis doubled her production with five more kills as the Warriors were able to stay within four points for the majority of the set. Abby Ongna led the way for Winona State with four kills in the set.

The Huskies closed the match out with a dominant third set. Head coach Chad Braegelmann was able to use a balanced attack as seven different players recorded kills in the set. SCSU added three more team blocks to bring their match total to nine.

SCSU now hits the road this weekend, facing tough competition in No. 2 Wayne State and Augustana. The Huskies face the Wildcats at 6 p.m. on Friday and the Vikings on 1 p.m. on Saturday.
