Archived: Husky Baseball Sweeps Sunday At Concordia

The SCSU baseball team swept a pair of games against Concordia Sunday afternoon in St. Paul. The Huskies and Golden Bears doubleheader at Joe Faber Field scheduled for Saturday was PPD due to rain and rescheduled for Monday afternoon at 1 PM.

The Huskies took game one by a final score of 8-5. SCSU scored five runs in the sixth inning to earn the comeback victory. 

Logan Birr turned in a complete game, six-hit effort to run his season record to a perfect 7-0. Sophomore Garrett Fischer had a pair of hits for the Huskies in game one and was also hit by a pitch. 

The Huskies again got a long start from their starting pitcher in game two with Scotty Lieser lasting nine innings to help the Huskies earn their first two-game sweep since March 31st. The Huskies won by a final score of 6-5 in ten innings. 

SCSU is now 27-10 overall and 12-6 in NSIC play.
