Archived: Jackie Robinson Story at Diversity Day

Ron Rabinovitz will be the keynote speaker Friday for the SCSU celebration of diversity day. Rabinovitz will present “Jackie and Me,” the story of how, as a seven year old, he became pen-pals and eventually friends with Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play Major League Baseball. Now a Minnesota resident, Rabinovitz was raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He watched Robinson play at nearby Milwaukee County Stadium where the Milwaukee Braves hosted the Dodgers for games each season. Rabinovitz will be speaking at 2 p.m. in the Atwood Cascade Room at Atwood Memorial Center.
