Do you believe in miracles?! YES!

Down goes Fraizer!

I don’t believe what I just saw!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. This week, for the first time in five weeks, Flight of the Conchords is not number 1. They say the bigger one is, the harder one falls. I guess FotC isn’t too big, then, since they only fell to number 3, but still, it’s an upset. Howevah, the successor (usurper?) is a worthy one. The Lost Fingers thrilled us ‘round these parts with their gypsy jazz covers of 80’s hits on Lost in the 80’s. I know this kind of thing gets thrown around a lot with stuff like this, but I’m pretty sure you haven’t really heard “You Give Love a Bad Name” until you’ve heard it sung by a dusky French-Canadian man backed by fast jazz guitar and sick double bass. Of course, credit is due to Clare and the Reasons for debuting as strongly as they did at #2.

Other notes:

I am pumped, pumped, to see B.C. up at number 9 (number 9, number 9, number 9…) this week. As I’ve said before, and will say again and again and again, quality hip-hop/rap like that will always have a place in my personal music library.

I got an interesting email from J. Goodman of Boat last Thursday, who promised pizza and diet soda for the station if we keep playing their release Setting the Paces and thanking us for the play they’ve already gotten. While that is tempting, I can’t take from a band that’s already given me such good music.

And final shouts out to Del & Tame One ( #10 in their last week), Jamie T (#13 in his first) and Noah and the Whale (#4, wow!).

My grandfather’s work was doodoo! I am not interested in death! The only thing that concerns me is the preservation of charts!

Thank You Underwriters
