Archived: KVSC Top 30

Starting this week (but on-time for next week), I will be providing a rundown of all things KVSC Top 30 as it happens! Oh the power of the internet!

Of course, this being text, there’s nothing stopping you from skipping my wonderful prose and just gettin’ your Top 30 fix by peeking at the list (linked below). Be reminded, however, that My Good Friend© Max Brown is back in the office again, and his friend Vladamir the Echidna would be so cheesed if you did. And trust me, an exacerbated echidna is not something you want to be dealing with.

At any rate…

This week, things continued to get shaken like a James Bond martini, with new artists cracking the top of the charts, and former top dogs sliding backwards. Makes for some exciting chartin’, I think. A highlight of the week has to be the resurrection of Portland Cello Project. Lost in the station-move shuffle (and in the summer personnel predicament), it only recently reemerged to wreak its beautiful, beautiful havoc upon our little world. Kyle Haze sends his apologies.

Some surprises: Arctic Monkeys, who managed to take a firm, death-like grasp of the number two spot, despite only two focus tracks. It will be the first and last week for the "Crying Lightning" single, however, as the full-length Humbug has now taken its place in our new music rotation. Apricot Rail bolted out of the gate, blowing away the competition en route to the top spot, we’ll see how long it can hold on. And lastly, but certainly not least(ly), Dinosaur Jr., which, while nearing the end of a perplexingly chart-free run, has made some solid showings the last two weeks.

That’s the fat and skinny, people, so here’s the charts.

Thank You Underwriters
