Five men were arrested in Sherburne County after $500,000 worth of marijuana was found. Investigators from the Sherburne and Carver County Sheriff’s Departments and the Metro Drug Task Force learned that a group was using a house on the 21-hundred block of County Road 83 in Big Lake Township to hold and distribute large amounts marijuana. Police say the suspects used the money from the drug sales to purchase cars which were taken to Texas and sold. 41-year-old Felix Martinez-Garza, 40-year-old Martin Garza , 47-year-old Israel Benavidez, 46-year-old Cesar Valdez-Gonzalez , and 27-year-old John Wisdom, all from Texas, were arrested and are facing 1st degree possession of marijuana charges. Investigators seized 313 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of cash and a Lincoln Navigator from the house. All five men were arraigned in Sherburne County District Court.
