Stearns County Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier is paying tribute to late County Commissioner Larry Haws this Saturday at the Granite City Days parade by riding in a manure spreader through the parade. Lenzmeier and Haws rode together in a manure spreader float almost ten years ago, as a mutual dare.

Haws passed away in March after battling with cancer. Lenzmeier wanted to honor his friend in a way that is unique to their friendship. Lenzmeier will be joined by Haws’ grandsons, who also rode with them ten years ago.

The Granite City Days parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the parade route can be viewed here.
