Sophomore forward Drew Leblanc has been told by his coaching staff countless times to shoot the puck more, three minutes into Sunday’s overtime, he did just that. Leblanc took a Ryan Lasch pass and put it past MSU-Mankato goalie Phil Cook to give St. Cloud State a 3-2 game three overtime win over the Mavericks.

Freshman Mike Lee was in between the pipes for the second straight game and made 27 saves in the victory. Helping him out offensively was senior forward Lasch with two assists and Garrett Roe and Garrett Raboin each chipped in a goal.

The win punched the Huskies’ ticket to the Xcel Energy Center and the Red Baron WCHA Final Five this weekend as they will take on the number two seed Wisconsin Badgers. Of note, SCSU went 2-2 in its regular season series against the Badgers. Fridays tilt is scheduled for 2:07 p.m. and is airing live on KVSC 88.1FM and online at kvsc.org.
