Archived: Life Saving Device Donated to Library

Two automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) have been donated to the Saint Cloud Great River Regional Library. The Central Minnesota Heart Center at Saint Cloud Hospital and Take Heart Saint Cloud are partnered to donate AEDs to be strategically placed throughout the Saint Cloud area. There are currently 75 donated AEDs through the community.
Approximately 95 percent of people who have who have a sudden cardiac arrest die before arriving at the hospital. The Take Heart initiatives in Saint Cloud and Anoka have raised the survival rate from 9 percent to 17 percent and are now expanding statewide.
