Archived: Little Falls Man Dies Removing Snow from Roof
A central Minnesota man has died after falling through his pole barn roof while trying to remove snow. Sheriff’s deputies from Morrison County arrived to find 46-year-old Verd Anez of rural Little Falls had died from apparent injuries suffered in the fall. The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office has not yet issued an official cause of death. Anez was a former assistant coach for the Alexandria girls’ hockey team. The accident was reported around 6:45 p.m. Monday.
Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel says with this winter’s heavy snowfall, at least one barn roof has collapsed, and many people have climbed onto their roofs to remove snow. Wetzel urges people to be careful when removing snow from a roof.
