Archived: Little Falls Man Shot by Officers Identified

The Little Falls man who died last Thursday morning after being shot by law enforcement officials has been identified as 37-year-old Patrick Glenn Jeske. According to the state Department of Public Safety, Jeske died as a result of blood loss associated with multiple gunshot wounds, and they weren’t self-inflicted, according to preliminary autopsy results.

It happened shortly after midnight Thursday morning. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office got a call saying that Jeske was suicidal and in possession of a gun. Officers found Jeske as he was leaving a friend’s home. Police say when they tried to pull him over, he pulled into a driveway and got out, armed with a shotgun. Officials say Jeske ignored the officers’ repeated orders to drop the gun. That’s when, the state department of public safety says, two Little Falls Police officers and two Morrison County sheriff’s deputies fired their weapons. Jeske was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four officers who fired their guns have been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is under investigation. The officers have been identified as Little Falls police officers Jon West, and Joshua Burgardt, and Morrison County sheriff’s deputies James Paschelke, and Shawn Larson. West and Burgardt have been with the Little Falls Police Department for four years. Paschelke is a six year veteran of the sheriff’s office, while Larson is a sergeant who has been with the sheriff’s office for 11 years.
