Archived: Mail Carrier Rolls Vehicle Avoiding Deer

A Central Minnesota rural mail carrier was injured in a rollover accident at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning trying to avoid a deer on the road. 35 year old Kathleen Gerads of Freeport was driving her car on St. Anna Drive in Albany when she saw a deer. According to the Stearns County Sheriffs report, Gerad’s maneuver to avoid hitting the deer caused the rollover. After losing control of the car,Gerads hit the east ditch. The car then rolled and landed upright. A family member brought Gerads to the Albany hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
