Archived: Man Assaulted After Stopping To Help Stranded Motorist
A man was beaten with a tire iron Thursday evening after stopping to help two men stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire.
The victim was travelling near the intersection of County Road 6 and County Round 137 at 6:30 PM Thursday when he stopped to help the two men change a tire. According to Waite Park Police, the victim was beaten with a tire iron, and robbed of his belongings. The victim was found by passers-by unconscious in a ditch.
There were two suspects described by Waite Park Police. The first suspect is a black man in his early 20’s, 6 feet tall and skinny. He was wearing a white hat, loose fitting white shirt, dark brown pants and sandals.
The second suspect is described as a black man in his early 20’s, approximately five-foot-three-inches tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a blue checkered flannel shirt and blue jeans.
The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call Waite Park Police at 320-251-3281.
