A St. Cloud man is recovering after being attacked on his way home from the bars early Friday morning. St. Cloud Police were called to the South side college area around 2:45 p.m. after a man reported a robbery that occurred at 2:15 a.m.

The 21-year-old victim told police that he was walking home alone from the bars when he was tackled from behind and forced to the ground which caused him to lose consciousness. The victim said that when he woke up he was being treated by two unknown people and also noticed his cell phone was missing.

The attack happened around the area of 6th Street South and 6th Avenue South. The victim is suffering from sore ribs and a swollen black and blue eye from the attack. The man was unable to provide a good description of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities. St. Cloud Police are encouraging people to walk in groups during the night hours and stay in well-lit areas.
