A Big Lake man was killed Saturday after driving his vehicle into the side of a house in Orrock Township. Sherburne County Sheriffs were called to the 16800 block of 242nd Avenue just after 7 p.m.

Homeowners Lionel and Janene Callies were in the home watching TV when they heard a crash from another portion of the home. Deputies arrived to find the driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Ray Kopponen unresponsive. Efforts to resuscitate Kopponen were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death as well as the accident is currently under investigation.
