Early Sunday morning Stearns County Sheriff officers were called to an ATV crash at Schuman Lake Road. The ATV appeared to be heading west when the driver lost control in a curve. The driver then slid across the dirt road and struck a tree.

The driver was treated on scene by the Avon Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance and was transported by North Memorial Air Ambulance to North Memorial Hospital but died in route. The accident is under investigation and names are not being released until the family is notified.
