A St. Cloud man escapes from his truck before watching it sink in Rice Lake Tuesday. Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a truck had gone thru the ice on Rice Lake in Eden Lake Township just before 11 p.m.

64-year-old Richard Nicholas Antony was traveling South on the lake from the public access off 180th Street when the truck broke thru the ice and became partially submerged. Antony was alone at the time and was able to escape without injuries.

Thin ice signs were placed around the area where the incident happened. Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident and is encouraging people to use their best judgment before taking vehicles onto the ice.
