Sauk Rapids Police were called check on a man found sitting along the Mississippi River Sunday afternoon. People in a passing canoe saw the man in the same position for a long period of time and decided to call police.

When officers arrived they found 50-year-old Daniel John Gedker deceased with no signs of trauma or anything suspicious. Gedker’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office where the cause of death is yet to be determined, results of a toxicology report have not been released.
