A Clearwater man had the flames under control when the Stearns County Fire Department arrived after his house started on fire. Shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday the Clearwater Fire Department arrived at the home of fifty-two year old Keith Smith after he reported a fire at his home on County road 145. By the time the Fire Department and Sheriff got to the scene, Smith already had the flames under control. Fire fighters extinguished hot spots in the walls and ceiling of the house. Sheriffs say the fire was started by a wood stove inside.
