A St. Augusta man is being treated for injuries at the St. Cloud Hospital after falling from his stand while deer hunting. The accident happened at 5395 County Road 136 in St. Augusta.

According to the Stearns County Sherriff’s report, 50-year-old Daniel Joseph Nelson was 12 feet from the ground when he shot at a deer. After firing, a rotted portion of the tree his stand was in gave way and caused him to lose his balance and fall. The St. Augusta Rescue Squad transported Nelson out of the woods and an ambulance brought him to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
