Man Sentenced to Over 15 Years in Prison for 2018 Crime Spree

An Alexandria man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted on several charges from a crime spree committed in September of 2018.

Stearns County says that 32-year-old Ramey James Olson has been sentenced to 15 years and 9 months in prison for two counts of assault in the first degree and one count of burglary in the first degree.

The charges stem back to an incident on September 13th of last year, when Olson stole a truck in Osakis and eventually drove through a garage in Sauk Centre. Olson then went into the home where officers would later find him with a compound bow that he fired at the officers. Police returned fire and were eventually able to arrest Olson without the use of lethal force.

Olson entered a guilty plea and was ordered to pay restitution for all the victims of the “crime spree”.
