Archived: Memorial Day Service to Remember Veterans and Pioneers
A Memorial Day service to remember veterans and early pioneers will be held at the historic Stanger Cemetery. Stearns County Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier and retired State Representative Larry Haws are both scheduled to speak at the service. Patriotic music will be played by award winning saxophone player Sara Kramer and the Place of hope Ministry Singers and a rifle salute by the Granite City VFW will be featured as well. Stanger cemetery is located near the Sauk River on the outskirts of Waite Park on County Road 138. The short service will be at 9 a.m. on Monday and will be open for anybody to attend.
