Archived: Minnesota hits 300 Reported Traffic Deaths

This week, road deaths in Minnesota topped 300 according to The Minnesota Department of Public Safety. As of Wednesday, the total traffic death count was at 303, compared to the 313 deaths last year at this time.  At this pace, Minnesota is expected to have 405 traffics deaths by the end of the year. Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) states that they are very close to reaching their goal of fewer than 400 deaths for 2010. Seat belt enforcement and aggressive driving patrols have factored in to the fewer death count this year, according to Traffic Safety Officials.
