Archived: Minnesota Sees Coldest Morning of Season
Minnesota saw its coldest weather of the season state-wide this morning. The St. Cloud Regional Airport reported a low temperature of -29 degrees between five and six a.m. today, which is the coldest temperature recorded at the airport since a -36 degree morning on January 16, 2009. The local, record-low temperature is -50 degrees, set in 1888.
According to SCSU Meteorology professor Bob Weisman, clouds will rapidly increase today in St. Cloud, and there is a chance for a dusting of snow as well. Weisman says there is a “decent” chance that the Granite City will see a high temperature above zero today.
