St. Cloud State’s Women Center will be hosting ‘Uncovering the Truth on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’ Wednesday at 12 pm in the Atwood Theater, as a part of their Women on Wednesday series.

This week’s presenter is Minnesota State Representative Mary Kunesh-Podein, who represents district 41B, which is a suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul.  She is a founding member of the first Native American and POCI Caucus in the Minnesota House of Representatives.  She also was the author and passed legislation to initiate a Missing and Murdered Task force in Minnesota during the 2019 legislative session.

Native American and indigenous women are murdered at a much greater rate than other women in America and this session will focus on the facts, factors and impact and possible solutions to these often hidden crimes.
