Archived: Mother and Young Daughter Saved After Car Crash

A mother and young daughter were rescued from an over-turned car early Tuesday morning. Police say 26-year-old Gretchen Wolbeck of Rice and her 4-year-old daughter were driving down Benton County Road two when the car left the road and rolled over in the backwater area of Little Rock Creek.

When Sheriffs arrived they found Wolbeck and her daughter had been rescued by two witnesses to the crash who broke one of the car’s windows with a piece of lumber to free them.One witness was identified as 21-year-old Craig Harden of Rice, the other left the scene before he could be identified. Wolbeck and her daughter were both taken to the St. Cloud Hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries. The crash is currently under investigation.
