Arrests and citations from move-in weekend 2012 are down from 2011, 187 charges were filed by the St. Cloud Police this weekend compared to last year’s 268. Police say that only 51 of the 161 people cited are current St. Cloud State University students.

63 of the 187 charges were for minor consumption and 75 of them were open container violations. Approximately 54 of the underage consumption charges were directed to the diversion program offered by the City Attorney’s Office and St. Cloud State University.

Two people were cited for DWI’s. One was a third degree DWI and the other second degree.

Some other citations included fleeing police on foot violations, noise violations, disorderly conduct, and a keg permit violation.
