St. Cloud State University officially introduced Heather Weems as the new Athletic Director Friday morning. Weems comes to SCSU from Drake, which is located in Des Moines, Iowa where she served as Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator.

While working at Drake, Weems was responsible for internal affairs and oversight in NCAA compliance, academic success services, sports medicine, strength and conditioning as well as sport program supervision. The new Athletic Director will begin on campus July 1.

Weems is a native of Iowa. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from the University of Denver where she also worked as Associate Athletics Director for seven years.
