Archived: NSIC Looking to Expand
St. Cloud State may have new foes in the NSIC for years to come as the conference is looking to add two new charter members. Expansion is being discussed among the current members of the 14-school conference and four colleges have been selected to potentially fill the two open slots. The University of Sioux Falls, Minot State, South Dakota School of Mines, and Black Hills State are among the interested schools.
Board officials are meeting this week and could select the two new schools, which would most likely push the NSIC to two divisions. Friday it was announced that league officials would visit Sioux Falls and Minot. KVSC’s Sports Department will have more on this story as it continues to develop.
