Archived: Pay Freeze on Board of Commissioners
The Stearns County Board of Commissioners has voted to not give themselves a pay increase next year. In a four-to-one vote, the board opted to freeze salaries to help reduce spending during times of cuts and tight budgets. The only vote against the proposition was made by Commissioner Schaefer, who wanted a freeze on the salaries of not just the board, but all elected officials. With the vote, this is the second straight year the Commissioners Board has frozen their salaries.
