Archived: Poetry Slam for Miller Center’s 10th Anniversary

The James W. Miller Learning Resources Center turned ten this year, and to celebrate St. Cloud State will hold a “Light and Hope” poetry slam competition tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7:30 p.m. in the Atwood center Cascade Room. The public is invited to watch SCSU students compete for prizes by performing their best spoken word, poetry, or lyrics. Award-winning spoken word artist Ibrahima “ibe” Kaba as well as internationally acclaimed hip-hop rapper and poet Desdamona will be included in this event. Terrell woods aka “Carnage the Executioner” and “Carnage XXXL” also will perform beat boxing at the event. Students may sign to compete in the UPB room at Atwood, room 118 and it is a free event.
