A St. Cloud man is in jail after allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a knife early Monday morning. St. Cloud Police were called to the 1000 block of 8th Avenue South just after 1 a.m. for a domestic dispute in progress. 911 dispatch was told there was a man and woman physically fighting.

A police investigation found that 54-year-old Willie Lee Starr allegedly threatened the 45-year-old victim with a knife. Police say Starr also threatened to kill the victim and prevented her from leaving. The victim tried calling police but Starr pulled the phone off the wall and broke another phone to keep the victim from calling 911.

The victim received minor non-life threatening injuries during the assault. Starr was taken to Stearns County Jail and is facing charges of felony domestic assault, terroristic threats, interference with a 911 call, second degree assault and false imprisonment.
