Archived: Police Nab Two Suspects in Burlgary Attempts
St. Cloud Police were able to catch two suspects who were allegedly breaking into two buildings Thursday morning.
At 2:30 a.m. officers were called to a burglary in progress at the 400 block of 6th Avenue South. Descriptions of the suspects were given and officers searched the area. At 3 a.m. officers were called to another burglary at the 700 block of 7th Avenue South. Officers met with the victim, a 27-year-old St Cloud resident who said the suspects entered his home through an unlocked door and stole electronics. The men matched the description from the previous burglary.
Officers arrested one juvenile boy after a foot chase and they also arrested 20-year-old Omar Ahmed Abdi of St. Cloud near the location of the second burglary. Evidence from both burglaries was found on the suspects andpolice were able to tie both men to both burglaries. Both Abdi and the juvenile were arrested for two counts of first degree burglary and are currently being held for court.
