St. Cloud police are reminding pedestrians and drivers alike to be aware of their surroundings around crosswalks following a hit and run accident last Wednesday.

A 14-year-old Sartell boy was injured while crossing the street on the 300 block of 7th Avenue South. Investigation found he had been in the crosswalk when a car ran over his right foot before continuing Northbound.

The driver contacted the police on Thursday, stating she had returned to the scene in an attempt to locate the boy but was unaware he had been injured. Additional witnesses have come forward and an investigation is ongoing.
