Police say a man was taken to the hospital after being stabbed in the chest early Saturday morning. Police say the 23-year-old native of Cedar, Minnesota was assaulted during a fight in the parking lot of an apartment building at 403 7th Avenue South in St. Cloud.

Police say 20-year-old Joseph Brang of Clear Lake was at a gathering when he was asked to leave. A group of people followed him to the parking lot where the fight continued. That’s when, police say, Brang stabbed the victim in the chest. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities later found Brang in Clear Lake and brought him to the Stearns County Jail. He is being held for court pending 1st Degree assault charges.
