Archived: Pot Seized in Storage Unit Near Sauk Rapids

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says it seized nearly $4,000 worth of marijuana in a Sauk Rapids storage facility. It happened Monday afternoon at Benton Drive Storage. The Sheriff’s Office says it received a call that a small bag of marijuana was found at the business. Later, when investigators were on site, a car arrived. Deputies stopped the vehicle and one of the passengers, 28-year-old Thomas Gerald Provo of Sartell, admitted he owned a storage unit on the property that contained marijuana. Investigators searched the unit and found about a pound of marijuana with a street value of about $3,600. Formal charges against Provo are pending.
