Prepare for Slippery Roads Wednesday in Central Minnesota

A mix of rain and snow is predicted to head into central Minnesota Wednesday.

St. Cloud State University meteorology professor Bob Weisman reports the next storm is expected to spread rain across central and southern Minnesota, beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing into the evening. But, Weisman says colder air will rush in at the very tail end of the storm, creating the possibility for mixed precipitation or snow at the end of the storm.

The timing of this changeover to freezing rain would be late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Be prepared for slippery roads and sidewalks. The precipitation could be mostly snow further to the north of St. Cloud where 2-5 inches may be possible from Grand Forks into the Arrowhead.
