According to Sheriff Joel Brott, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s office received a call from an individual stating they received a text message from a friend that her boyfriend was sexually assaulting her, and asking her to call 911. Deputies responded to an address in the 13000 block of 314^th Avenue in Baldwin Township, where the victim stated that she had been assaulted in the bedroom. The victim also stated that the suspect was in a back bedroom and that there were firearms in the residence.

Deputies removed the victim from the residence and set up a perimeter around the home, and initial attempts to make contact with the suspect were unsuccessful. The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Unit was called to the scene, and a search warrant was issued. At that point Johnson was taken into custody without further incident.
