Archived: Property Owner Mistaken as Burglar Sunday Night
A 37 year old St. Cloud property owner was mistaken for a burglar while checking on the rental house he owns. The incident took place just after midnight on Sunday on the 300 block of 3rd Avenue South in St. Cloud. The victim was approached by two men, who believed that the victim was trying to vandalize the property; not knowing the victim was the owner. The St. Cloud Police Department report says one of the males, 21 year old, Christopher Alexander Howard then pulled out a knife and began to threaten the victim. After an altercation had occurred, the victim was struck with the knife causing minor injuries. Howard, an SCSU student, was placed under arrest and taken to Stearns County Jail.
