SAUK RAPIDS TWP., Minn. — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says a Sauk Rapids man has died after a T-bone crash in Sauk Rapids Township.

According to a media release, around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 48-year-old Bradley Thoennes was driving north on Mayhew Lake Road in Sauk Rapids Township and attempted to turn left onto 15th St. North East when a pickup truck collided with his vehicle.

Thoennes sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the pickup truck, 43-year-old Justin Lutze of Foley, sustained non-threatening injuries and was brought to the St. Cloud Hospital. Lutze’s passenger, 32-year-old Jerry Wilson of Cold Spring was uninjured in the crash.
