19 year old Paul Butkowski from Sauk Rapids is crowned Minnesota Grand Champion for truck driving. The competition took place over the weekend of June eleventh through the twelfth and Butkowski had the top score for the “Three Axle” division, one of nine divisions throughout the contest. The three elements for the contest include a written test, driving skills course and a pre-trip inspection where drivers must find planted safety defects on a tractor-trailer.

Butkowski works for FedEx Freight, has a wife and two daughters and will be heading to Orlando, Florida for the 2011 National Truck Driving Championships in August.
