Archived: SCSU Alum to Run for House
A St. Cloud State alum has filed for candidacy in the race for Minnesota District 15B. Democrat Zachary Dorholt will try to fill the seat that’s being vacated by State Representative Larry Haws. Dorholt received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from St. Cloud State. He is currently a counselor at the Central Minnesota Mental Health Center in St. Cloud. Dorholt isn’t the only democrat vying for the house seat. On Tuesday, St. Cloud resident and former school board member Carol Lewis filed to be on the ballot. On the republican side, St. Cloud State Economics Professor King Banaian, has already announced plans to run. The deadline to file for candidacy is June 1st. The primary election will be held August 10th.
