Archived: SCSU Illness Outbreak Not from Foodborne Illness
An outbreak of student illnesses in St. Cloud State’s Shoemaker Hall did not stem from a foodborne illness, according to the state Department of Health. Early last week, health investigators inspected a high number of students who live in Shoemaker Hall all reported symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. The investigators concluded the outbreak spread as a result of person to person contact… not from something the students ate. Most students who were sick last week are now reporting that their symptoms have passed.
